Located in Brooklyn Center, Garden City Elementary serves nearly 350 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade. At Garden City, we plant knowledge and grow community in an atmosphere of acceptance. We expect all students and staff to treat each other with respect and consistently pursue excellence in behavior and learning.

Support to grow as lifelong learners
At Garden City Elementary, we work with all scholars to provide appropriate academic support and rigor. From gifted education opportunities to services that support learners with special needs, our caring educators help each individual student succeed and lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning.
In addition to core subjects, Garden City scholars also benefit from opportunities in music and physical education, as well as arts residencies that allow their creativity to flourish.

Safe and healthy school climate
Garden City is a safe and welcoming school that recognizes students for their positive behaviors and provides interventions to scholars who may be struggling. We encourage our students to SWIM:

Each month, we also feature one student per classroom on a Wall of Fame, with teacher-written tributes that address each child's outstanding qualities.
Engaging families
We're proud of our tight-knit school community. Throughout the year, we welcome Garden City families to school for several fun events, including our Multicultural Night and Boston Scientific Math Night.
We also offer Families to Families, a parent engagement program that helps families stay active and be a part of their child's elementary experience at Garden City.
